The G. Loomis Pro Blue series of fishing rods to this day remain right at the top of my favorites! I have fished the predecessor to the Pro Blue series for many, many years now and they are still at the top of my arsenal for many applications. The G. Loomis Pro Blue Series takes it to an even higher level… the Pro Blue rods are wickedly powerful yet have superior sensitivity and touch. There is no finer jigging rods on the planet, period. One of my favorite all-around saltwater rods is the G. Loomis Pro Blue PBR843C and PBR844C…. just ask anyone I fish with how often I leave the dock without them on the boat! I can't remember one single time last season I fished without them along. Slap a little Avet MXL loaded with 50# braid or a reel of that nature on them and go to work! In the NE, they whip up on stripers and blues… dominate wreck fishing and deep water jig with the best of them. Down to the SE, they are amazing grouper, snapper, jack and permit rods and excellent for live baiting sails, dolphin, wahoo, etc. On the West Coast… the PBR's take full advantage of albacore, yellowtail, halibut, salmon and others. The G. Loomis Pro Blue are truly a rod that should be part of every anglers gear! Here is what G. Loomis says about the Pro Blue series:
Pro-Blue - Everyone says dogs tend to look like their MASTERS. Well, you may have also noticed fishing rods tend to look like the fish they're built to pursue. Trout rods are long and sleek. Bass rods, short and powerful. And saltwater rods are, well, to see this analogy through you'll have to turn the pages. From looking at everyone else's rods, it would seem that they think fish in the ocean are big, slow, mule-headed oafs. But we know better. Our SALTWATER rods represent what the fish in the ocean are truly like. Sure, our rods are big, but they're sleek too. Powerful. Fast. Like a tuna. Our saltwater rods. designed with the help of seasoned pros on both coasts, are lighter, tougher and more sensitive than anything else you'll cast into the salt. If you want to catch big, dull fish, stick with one of those other rods. If you want to catch big, fast, POWERFUL fish, try one of ours.
