Friends… if you want a LIGHWEIGHT surf plugging rod that can cast effortlessly for long distance, you can cast it all day and fight quality fish with it… teamed with a reel that will hold up for you through thick and thin, big fish and small… I have already laid out the rods above for you. Anything less than that will be much too heavy (physically), have a sloppy action that will be lousy for casting/fighting fish and the reels will be junk. I'll leave that for the mart's and mega-catalog companies!
